Bud, the Bible salesman, strikes up a friendship with Charlayne, the stripper, and tells two conflicting stories about his father´s death. Ray, the bartender, hires a band and cuts a record expressing his love for Charlayne. Then he and Ryder, the ambulance driver, settle their differences in a game of pool. Ryder attempts to seduce Charlayne at a motel in the rain.
