That's right folks, we here at freeform KDVS 90.3 are putting together the reasonably legendary O:RMF festival again.
For those in the know, skip this paragraph, but those new to the event should be forewarned of the non-profit all ages DIY biannual music fest and the rollicking good times associated. This event has a rich history of bringing killer music from the radiowaves of KDVS to the soundwaves of Yolo county, with only a PA and a pitcher between the two of you. It's all taking place at the Plainfield Station, chosen for its awesome burgers, cheap beer, and location in the middle of rural Yolo county (less cops). So join us for the invasion and help us bring the best tunes to the region, as we have for decades.
This year we're going from 2pm to 10pm on Sunday May 23rd, with thirteen bands.
Who's playing?
Plainfield Station is located at 23944 County Road 98, just across the bridge at the intersection of Road 98 & 29. Technically part of Woodland, it’s closer to Davis. From Davis, take 5th street/Russell blvd west, then turn right on Road 98 and travel north. From I-80, take 113 north, then Road 29 west. Grill and beer bar, so bring cash for chow and cheer. If you don’t have a car, how the hell are you going to get out there? Easy. Tough up and ride your bike on the 5th street route, it's only a few miles.
Those of you interested in biking but don't know the way or just love company can join us at Delta of Venus by 1:15pm on Sunday to head out to Plainfield Station as per KDVS tradition. We will also bike back at the end of the festival together. Bring lights! It will be somewhat dark when we head back.
Added bonus for the bikers: after the fest, Rob Walmart is leading the bike caravan back to Davis in their Van.
