This week we have Steven Vote, Jack Dale, Grace Sprague, and Trevor Kuss back for the second time. Congratulations goes out to Kartar Singh who was a perfect 13-0 last week with his picks.
Jets @ Lions
Steve Vote- Jets. Though the 9-0 loss at Green Bay was puzzling, I still think they pick up the win in Detroit.
Jack Dale- Jets- I want to say Detroit sooo badly, just on a whim. But I cant let Grace and Steve take me down after I embarrassed both of them last pick’em round.
Grace Sprague- Jets: The loss to the Packers hurt the Jets, but expect them to rally with a solid running game.
Trevor Kuss- Jets. They have had some weak spots for the offense at points this year, but they have one of the better teams overall in the NFL
Dolphins @ Ravens
Steve Vote- Ravens. Baltimore has quietly been one of the best teams in the league, while Miami has shown inconsistency.
Jack Dale- Baltimore- Why does it seem like Miami has had such a difficult schedule this year?
Grace Sprague- Ravens: Baltimore has yet to lose this season at M&T Bank Stadium.
Trevor Kuss- Ravens. My pick for the AFC team in the Super Bowl, plus I’m Wacco for Flacco.
Patriots @ Browns
Steve Vote- Patriots. Cleveland has shown an aptitude for winning games they shouldn’t and losing all of the others. I think this week defies that trend.
Jack Dale- Pats- Belichick vs. Eric Man-Genius. C’mon.
Grace Sprague- Patriots: With the Browns sluggish coming off a bye, the win will be that much easier for Brady and the 6-1 Pats.
Trevor Kuss- Browns. Upset of the week, I think the Browns will be riding a high after their big win last week, and they’ll continue to ride the beast that is Peyton Hillis.
Chargers @ Texans
Steve Vote- Chargers. It honestly pains me to pick this team. They are severely lacking in the likeability department and have been all over the place this season. Still, they are the best team in the league at defending the run, holding Chris Johnson to only 59 yards last week.
Jack Dale- Chargers are awake, watch out Oakland and Kansas City. Denver can crawl back into their hole in the ground.
Grace Sprague- Chargers: Philip Rivers (315.3 passing yards) + a struggling
Texans offense = a win for San Diego…even on the road.
Trevor Kuss- Texans. I’m the founding member and driver of the Texans Bandwagon, they’ve shown their defense has room for improvement but I think Foster and Schaub will carry the team against a Chargers team that can’t win on the road.
Bears @ Bills
Steve Vote- Bills. Buffalo has actually looked very impressive in the last two weeks, despite losing both games. The Bears are reeling after realizing Jay Cutler is not good at football (Go Broncos).
Jack Dale- Bills- Upset pick of the week, I’m thinking Jay Cutler throws 3+ INTS, and the Bill get their much needed first W. But really I’m just glad Shawn Merriman finally has a home in Buffalo, that guy is just…great.
Grace Sprague- Bills: “rally” (verb) to come together again in order to continue fighting after a defeat. It’s about that time, right?
Trevor Kuss- Bears. I picked the bears since no one else did. Also, Mike Martz is an offensive mind that can pick defenses apart. I think Jay Cutler will bounce back this week.
Cardinals @ Vikings
Steve Vote- Vikings. The Vikings have had a weird week, and a weird season for that matter. Still, the Cardinals are starting Derek Anderson this week.
Jack Dale- Vikings- I’m a well-known Viking hater, but this game is a must win, even if Tavaris Jackson ends up getting playing time. At this point, I may take Tavaris over Favre anyway. Actually, just let Adrian Peterson be QB, I’m sure he’d at least beat Arizona.
Grace Sprague- Cardinals. I’m willing to bet $8.40 and lunch at Tinucci’s.
Trevor Kuss- Vikings. As much as I want to pick the Cards, Max Hall isn’t very good. despite the turmoil the team is currently in I think the Vikings will
Bucs @ Falcons
Steve Vote- Falcons. Tampa Bay is a good team, don’t get me wrong. However, wins against Cleveland, Carolina, Cincinnati, St. Louis and Arizona, and blowout losses against Pittsburgh and New Orleans don’t make you a contender.
Jack Dale- Falcons- Because I love me some Matty Light.
Grace Sprague- Bucs: The Bucs have something the Falcons don’t: Josh Freeman.
Trevor Kuss- Bucs. Matty Ice and the Falcons are good but I think Josh Freeman is going to continue to impress people until he’s a household name.
Saints @ Panthers
Steve Vote- Saints. Lately with New Orleans, you never really know what you’re going to get. Luckily the Panthers are so bad.
Jack Dale- Saints- Look for Drew Brees to dominate. Please Drew, I’m 2-6 and frankly you haven’t been performing.
Grace Sprague- Saints: The Panthers probably can beat a team better than the 49ers, but not this week.
Trevor Kuss- Saints. The Panthers are a terrible terrible team.
Giants @ Seahawks
Steve Vote- Giants. New York has quietly become one of the best teams in the league, ranking in the top 10 in all of the major offensive and defensive categories.
Jack Dale- G-Men- Ill take New York every time in this matchup, especially with Hasselbeck out.
Grace Sprague- Giants: Sometimes it doesn’t matter who’s undefeated at home. The Giants are simply the better team.
Trevor Kuss- Giants. Hasselbeck is out and Charlie Whitehurst is not a good quarterback.
Colts @ Eagles
Steve Vote- Eagles. Vick is back and the Colts have been absolutely wiped out by injuries.
Jack Dale- Colts- Every time I pick against Vick, he burns me. But I’m gunnin for the #1 spot so here we go Indy, make me proud.
Grace Sprague- Eagles: Philadelphia will carry a new confidence with Vick back at 100%.
Trevor Kuss- Colts. The one player the Colts haven’t lost to injury is Peyton Manning and he’s the only guy that matters on that team.
Chiefs @ Raiders
Steve Vote- Raiders. I’m never one to pick Oakland to win anything, aside from a top-5 draft pick, but its undeniable, they’ve been playing well.
Jack Dale- Raiders - I picked the Raiders to finish first in their division, so I kinda have to take them in this matchup, plus I have a feeling like neither Grace or Steve are picking Oakland.
Grace Sprague- Chiefs: With Oakland giving up an average of 127.4 rushing yards, Kansas City will have no problem plowing through on offense.
Trevor Kuss- Chiefs. They are way better than people give them credit for and I think they’re going to win the division this year.
Cowboys @ Packers
Steve Vote- Packers. Great defensive effort shutting out the Jets last week, should have no problem with Kitna.
Jack Dale- Packers-Greg Jennings, cross the plane!
Grace Sprague- Packers: Kicker Mason Crosby scored all of Green Bay’s 9 points against the Jets last week. They’ll need a lot more than that for any future wins…unless they’re playing the Cowboys.
Trevor Kuss- Packers. The only way the Cowboys have a chance is if Kitna somehow time travels from 2003 and takes the place of current day Kitna. So I think it’s safe to say that the Packers will win.
Steelers @ Bengals
Steve Vote- Steelers. If it was only passing that won games, the Bengals would probably win the Super Bowl. Unfortunately, it’s not and the Steelers defense will win this game.
Jack Dale- Bengals- I’ll bet Pittsburgh’s D comes out reluctant, especially James Harrison who’s had like 1/5th of his salary taken away thanks to the Commish.
Grace Sprague- Steelers: As long as Pittsburgh stops Carson Palmer, the Bengals will have a tough time moving the ball.
Trevor Kuss- Bengals. The Bengals have been putting up decent numbers recently but haven’t been able to come away with a win. I think they come out swinging against in a tough division match-up and squeak out a close one.
