KDVS to Participate in CBI's Moment of Silence for KUSF and KTRU at 10am 4/28/11

KTRU's license will transfer to the University of Houston, from Rice's student run staff on Thursday, April 28th at 6am. The deal violated Texas Open Meetings act and left the students and community out of the negotiations. Similarly, KUSF was sold to USC without consultation of their staff as well. We are having a moment of silence to bring awareness to the situation facing many college stations around the country. KDVS is like KTRU and KUSF, and our license is a great asset to our community and campus, and our staff does everything to protect it and put it to good use by offering open studiod to the community and educational programming standards. We'd like to show our solidartiy with these stations with a short interruption of our broadcast.
