The DollarTree.Com Rip Off

This is a warning to everyone out there that thinks DollarTree.Com is a good way to go (I found it much better to just go to the physical store instead).

Yes, I try to mainly talk about music, but on our show we also talk about things going on in our lives and the greater political social structure we live in.

When you go to the DollarTree.Com web site you find all sorts of things you can buy in bulk.  You can even get special shipping where you can pick up your package at a Dollar Tree store near where you live.  There is one in Davis and it isn't even too far from where I live.  So, I thought getting free shipping was a great deal and I'd only have to pay for the items themselves.  I was wrong.  They don't charge you a shipping fee BUT they charge you a handling fee which might as well be called shipping when it is around $5 to put it on a truck that is going to the store anyway.  This was annoying, but I decided to go for it anyway.  BUT, I didn't get the exact product I had wanted and what was shown on their Web site.  They were super nice at the Dollar Tree Store and tried to help me get it fixed, but we found out they don't carry the exact product I wanted anymore so I went with getting the money refunded.  The only thing is they won't refund the handling fee.

So, my suggestion is to stay away from the online ordering and just go to the store.  They are much nicer there (at least the one in Davis) and can let you know about what they can get or not without having to deal with stupid handling fees and getting the run around from their corporate headquarters.

Hope this saves someone some hard earned dough.

Cheers!
