A Clarification

To be proud of being an American is like being proud of being the child of wealthy parents.  I am grateful to be in an American.  I’m grateful for having had access to a good education.  I’m proud of the work I’ve done for previous communities and for KDVS and its listeners.  I’m proud of people I know and love who have overcome obstacles in their lives.  I’m grateful that I have a ready smile which people find friendly.  I’m grateful to be married to a brilliant and loving man.  I’m proud some of some of the decisions we take together.    Do you agree with the distinction which I feel needs to be made when people say they are proud of something?  Let me know by posting a comment!

Why do you support It's About You!

While thinking about the incredible people who listen to and support this show, the following words came to me. Because you live in the light, you can shine into dark places. Because your heart feels deeply, you can hear and speak of heavy things. Because your mind is open, you can free those whose minds are caged. Because your spirit is free, you can unshackle the spirits of the oppressed.
